tausche bags tips & tricks: bag cleaning

Many of us already manage to wash our hands. Objects of daily use, such as bags or rucksacks, are also very much a part of everyday life and offer surfaces that can absorb dirt, bacteria and viruses. Therefore it can also be important to clean them regularly. How you do this best is described here, using the different materials as examples.

Truck tarpaulin
Dirt can be washed off with lukewarm water and mild soap. We recommend that you clean the lid of your bag thoroughly, as you often touch it. Please remember not to use a hard sponge, a sharp brush and above all no solvents such as acetone or alcohol (disinfectant), so that the painted surface of the tarpaulin is not damaged. A cloth or a soft sponge with soapy water is a good choice.

Cordura
Again, you can wash off dirt with lukewarm water, a splash of mild soap, a soft sponge, a cloth or a soft brush. Make sure to work with as little pressure as possible, as Cordura is coated and impregnated to be waterproof and dirt-repellent.

Piñatex
The new material we use consists of the 100% naturally renewable raw material pineapple. This material is also best cleaned with warm, mild soapy water and a microfibre cloth or soft hand brush. For care, the manufacturer recommends "Organic Cream" from Collonil Organic or "Clear Dubbin" from Vegetarian Shoes. Please do not use any solvents, chlorides, polishes or chemical cleaning agents.

As you can see, cleaning your swapped bags is not a witchcraft. It is important that you clean your bag or rucksack gently and regularly.
